Sometimes I forget how much I really do like my job. ♥

Admittedly a lot of the reason I'm liking it right now is that I don't have to go to it tomorrow. ^_^; I get to take my birthday off and enjoy the improbable sunshine and almost-warmth!*

But also I sent a big project out for code review today, which was exciting. And I learned today what I was supposed to do next can't happen, which makes me happy because I wasn't really looking forward to it. So I get to do more of what I have been, which is exciting, because it's the fun part. :D

And in fact it occurred to me that since our team got re-org'd a month or so ago, I am now the back-end engineer on my team. Admittedly the team is me, two other engineers, and my newly-manager. And my manager does back-end coding. But he's got a lot of managerial stuff to do now, and the other two do mostly front-end interface stuff, so that means the majority of the structural and algorithmic stuff falls to me, which is really awesome. Because that's the fun part! :D Before our team split up I was too junior to get to do much of it.

We get our yearly evaluations back in a couple weeks, too, and while I suspect I won't actually be promoted, I definitely have a raise coming. So.

WHEE.

* - seriously. It always rains on my birthday. It always rained on my birthday when I lived in Southern California, where it rains like 10 days a year. Seattle, seriously? Sun? Warmest day in forever? I approve.
