So apparently about an hour's drive north of here they have a tulip festival - "festival" in the sense that there's a little town which grows a lot of tulips and that's only claim to fame is that when they bloom in the spring lots of people come to look at them.
I went with my family yesterday. It was a great day for it - sunny and nearly 70, not like last weekend when it was snowing - which of course meant there were lots of people driving up to see them. The car got a little tense by the end - my family doesn't get out much, and thus they have not cultivated the same sense of zen towards unmoving traffic that I have, apparently. >_>;
Anyway! There were theoretically fields and fields of tulips elsewhere, but the place we went was a garden-ish place with the tulips laid out in artistic beds. There were still many, many tulips, of many different kinds, and I took a lot of pictures. (Taking pictures of flowers is apparently my secret vice.)
Here are a few of them. And by a few I mean 19.

It was really pretty cool, family surliness notwithstanding. ^^
