laylah picked mine.| Keywords: "xkcd - rule social.b.99.1" An xkcd icon! I made a bunch of these at some point. I don't use them nearly enough. xkcd is in general hard to translate to icons because of the amount of text involved. I still really want an icon of this one for whatever reason, but I can't get the last two panels to translate to icon format. I use this icon exceedingly rarely, because while I spend a lot of time debating what to do with friends, I rarely feel outgoing enough to say "well we could default to sexual experimentation," even jokingly. >_> |
| Keywords: "chane - koe" (Comment: "with bonus pretentious Japanese") This is one of the few icons I have made for myself that I actually think is pretty. Unfortunately it also contains random pretentious Japanese so I rarely use it. >_> The Japanese reads "koe ga kikoeru" or "[I] hear a voice," which is appropriate enough for Chane. I blame the Saiyuki anime for the fact that I like the way that phrase sounds a lot. |
| Keywords: "I am sure this symbolizes... something" Ha ha I love this icon. A grenade and a feather/quill! Probably it's supposed to be... a more extreme form of "the pen is mightier than the sword" I guess? But mostly I use this icon for... symbolism taken beyond reasonable limits? Like... on the creation side throwing in random imagery to be ~symbolic~ and ~deep~, on the analysis side moving far into the "making shit up" arena. Of course it is an icon, so usually I am using it to make fun of myself for these things. Occasionally I will also use it on posts if I can't come up with an appropriate icon to use, because clearly it is symbolic of something deep and meaningful relating to the content of the post. I like self-mockery, you guys. |
| Keywords: "chainsaw" Giriko is so hot. ...do I have to say something other than that? Okayfine. This is one of my newest icons, picked up a few days ago when I was looking for new Soul Eater icons. Giriko is a crazy evil golem-engineer chainsaw who fights by himself without a wielder. He shows up at the beginning of the second big arc, just when you thought Soul Eater couldn't get much cooler. (Arachne also falls into this category.) |
| Keywords: "hakuryu" So like four years ago when I was first on LJ I was into Saiyuki! And I made some really terrible icons, nearly all of which didn't survive the journal moves/hard drive crashes between then and now. I think I also had a terribly colored version of this icon, or possibly just a version with colored text on it, that I ended up dropping for the plain manga version. Somehow I kept this one icon around. It is Hakuryu/Jeep, their tiny dragon that transforms into a jeep, and he's really cute. :< ...However, I do not think in those four years I have ever actually used this icon. |
