So apparently a lot of people have nightmares about their teeth falling out? I've seen this mentioned two entirely separate places in the past couple of months. I definitely have them, and I had one last night.

In my case, rather than breaking or crumbling or anything, my teeth just... are really loose in my mouth, and come out really easily and painlessly if I pull on them, only a bit slick with blood. IT IS IMMENSELY DISTRESSING.

Last night in particular I also had multiple sets of teeth growing in my mouth at once. (Like adult teeth coming in under baby teeth - I have heard this actually happened to someone in my family a while ago. A great-grandfather(?) who grew a second set of adult teeth under his first, like a shark.) So the teeth-loose-falling-out part didn't leave me with no teeth. Instead I had to look and see teeth growing in at weird angles or in pieces around the other ones, and pull those ones out while trying to keep the actual correct teeth in my mouth despite the fact that they were loose too and shifted around in my gums. And for whatever reason, I did this while going about my daily business, so occasionally I'd end up slipping a handful of tooth-bits into my pockets. AAAAUGH SO DISTRESSING.

Anyway, I woke up from this an hour or two before my alarm went off, and spent that time lying in bed trying to convince myself to go back to sleep. And failing, as my brain kept coming back to the dream, or alternately seizing on bad things about anything else I thought about. I am feeling somewhat better now, but when I finally got out of bed I was surly and headachey. >_>

01. The first character I fell in love with: Maka, obv., as she was in the first episode.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Marie. From the way she was described to me and her first scene I was expecting to hate her, but I actually like her a lot.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Black Star? Not everyone else loves him, clearly, but a lot of people do, even a lot of people who otherwise have opinions similar to mine.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: ...? Does anyone hate characters in this fandom? I guess Medusa's the closest choice since she seems to be neglected, but I don't know of anyone who actually hates her, and everyone I've actually talked to thinks she's rad.
05. The character I would shag anytime: Most of the cast. I have to pick only one? uh. ~~Stein~~ ~~Medusa~~ dear self, get some self-preservation ... Free? Is that better?
06. The character I'd want to be like: Maka

09. A pairing that I despise: There are some that are not my thing, and some that confuse me, but I don't think I despise any pairings.

17. Which character you're most like. I am not actually sure if this question is asking about me or the person who prompted. Switching pronouns suggests the latter. Um. Either way, Maka?
18. What is my deep, dark fandom secret. I actually think Kid/Black Star can probably be a fun pairing, I see the reasons behind it, and I might write it sometime. I am just kind of annoyed that the fandom focuses on it as much as it apparently does, in lieu of other things I find cooler. >_>

Black Star/Tsubaki sort of -- yeah. I. I imagine probably it happens, in the j-fandom especially? But augh. It's a kind of relationship that hits all of my bad pings, with the constant indulgence of his bad behavior and the simpering doormat-mother tendencies. She's a demon blade who has consumed her own brother's soul! I want her to have a spine!

	Yeah. There are occasions when I like Black Star and Tsubaki's relationship, mostly when it comes to their dependence on each other when their fighting, but in normal day-to-day-life it makes me go augh and hits my "no, that is not at all what a romantic relationship should be like" buttons. Ha ha IU. I enjoyed the game, but I may end up ranting a bit here.

01. The first character I fell in love with: Capell
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Ed...ward... maybe? Because he was kind of an ass in the beginning.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Sigmund? I don't know who "everyone else" is here, but I am pretty "eh" on him.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: ...Kiriya?
05. The character I would shag anytime: I am not sure there is actually anyone in the IU cast I would shag anytime.
06. The character I'd want to be like: I am not sure there is actually anyone in the IU cast I would want to be like either.

11. 5 things I enjoy about the fandom: Capell is adorable; the game is pretty; the game is short; it's fun to make to make fun of; Capell's voice acting.

And 5 that suck: Aya; the terrible terrible way they handle all their female characters overall, particularly Dominica, who had promise; the way they hide all their character development in optional scenes, and even with those you don't get much development for anyone who isn't Capell, Ed or Aya; the fact that they give you a bunch of characters you can't even have in your party; the way the game overall feels like a skeleton of the game they meant to make.

We started playing the game while I was looking for a counselor to app to CFUD, and I was deliberately watching Eugene as the one who looked most my type - kind of superficially like Jade from TotA. Only then he got basically no character development. Later I decided there really wasn't anyone from the game I wanted to app, and I ended up apping Medusa for counselors anyway. ^_^

	Heh, yeah, I think IU had a lot of potential but it reduced me to screeching frothing rage within 3 hours (Aya, actually, was not part of that but OH MY GOD THE TWINS.) I....should finish it, but augh, I hate games holding optional character-building scenes hostage to my ability to play on higher difficulties. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	You don't get any extra character development for the higher difficulties. All that stuff is there in normal mode. It's just fucking impossible to find. Aya is at her best in her very first scene. That's good to know! The guide/instruction manual implied that you get MOAR STUFF at higher difficulties, and I read it as being like Valkyrie Profile, where some character/story stuff is only available on Hard, etc. Thanks for clarifying. ^_^;

Yeah, I kind of liked Aya in the first scene so I was a little surprised to see how much she was being disliked about the f-list. Clearly, I must play more. (I got frustrated and quit somewhere in the Dragonbone Shrine. asdlkjalsdj gate and its not acknowledging that I brought it animals!)

The Seraphic Gate is not available on "easy" mode (which is fine b/c there's nothing easy about it; it's a bonus dungeon full of more bonus dungeons). To get all the optional scenes for people, you have to catch them at the right times in towns, and sometimes you have to be connected with the right *other* party member to make them trigger. So that bit is a pain and we missed about 80% of them the first time through. >->

I...do remember your frustration with that puzzle, yes.

	Ahhh. Well, given that the Seraphic Gate appears to be worth a whopping 1 Achievement Point, maybe I'll just re-start on Easy. -_-; I am clearly not up to the challenge of normal! I really liked the pretty of the game, and I think if I am flailing less about the difficulty maybe I'll enjoy the playing part more. :) (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	There is one thing in the Seraphic Gate that I was really glad we could do, and it does unlock the ability to make/find the best weapons in the game. But I don't know how much you actually need those unless you're in the Seraphic Gate, since you can't unlock it until you defeat the final boss anyway. ^^; (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The shrine puzzle isn't going to get any more or less easy; they're just trying to teach you to actually utilize your connect skill. If you connect to Rico and have him use his penguin parade skill, the animal will be charmed and follow you docily up the door, and be absorbed into it. You have to do it with the parade skill though, which is why they give you that heavy-handed MEANINGFUL LOOK at Rico XD

	Yeah - I figured that out after the fact, but at the time, I was too busy being frustrated by having done it the hard way (here monster! chase me!) to want to do it the "intended" way. XD And then I started DDS, and, well. That kind of ate my brains. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Also, I'm one of the people who likes Sigmund a lot. I know exactly why, too. He's the Righteous Paladin, which is slightly different than the (High and) Mighty Paladin, and I really dig that role. Balmung from the .hack series is a lot like that; Cyan from FF6 is, too. And, to an extent, even Auron from FFX.

They're all willing to make (self) sacrifices for the sake of the cause that they believe is good. That's a big draw for me.

I can see what's appealing about Sigmund, but to me he felt a bit flat, probably due to suffering a bit from being The Hero and, like most everyone else, lacking much character development. Also a large part of it I am sure is that knight/paladin is not one of the types that usually pings me hardest to start with. ^^;

11. 5 things I enjoy about the fandom: Pretty, different art; interesting story; fun & different battle system (I like it, okay);
12. And 5 that suck: Pretty terrible voice acting; horrible loading times; sketchy translations in place; no optional challenging dungeons or places to levelgrind (unless I just missed them); complete lack of a fandom.
13. Who are my 3 favorite characters. Raul, Rianna, Orha.
14. Who are my 3 least favorite characters. That one of the warriors whose name I always forget, and then like... Haren and Eonis of the main party, maybe? I don't mind them, but.

Yeah, completely understandable re: Sigmund. I've found that the paladin role has pinged me much (much) more the past few years. I largely blame aspects of my job (but don't consider it a bad thing). Like so many things in the game, it really needed more development!!

I'm pretty foggy on the end of MC, too -- had to read scripts to refresh myself with the plot, etc, a while back when using one of the characters in a (short lived) game. I keep trying to replay it, but the lack of an easy level grinding place (coupled with the load times) makes it so frustrating that I'm not sure I'll ever see the ending again.
